Shelties Available as of 07/29/10   (scroll down after reading these important facts)

  • The Shelties you see below are currently available for adoption , unless otherwise noted.     To begin the Adoption process, you will need to read this first.     Adoption Information

  • All dogs in our program are purebred Shelties, unless otherwise noted.

  • All Shelties listed are vet checked and healthy, temperament tested, spayed or neutered, brought current on shots, HW tested, wormed, flea protected, micro-chipped and groomed before they leave.

  • Our Senior Program is a program developed to promote the placement of senior dogs, (which are always so hard to adopt out).   Under this program,  we will help with vet bills for extraordinary or age related issues.  Ask for details. Read one adopters story

  • We do not recommend most Shelties with toddlers.  If you have small children, we would suggest a Lab or Golden Retriever.   These breeds are much better with small children.

  • Size-  All Shelties that we list are measured (in inches) from the ground to the top of the dogs back/neck....not the top of the head.   There is NO SUCH BREED as a "Miniature Sheltie".   There are very small Shelties and there are large shelties, but they are all "Shelties"

  • For the comfort and safety of our dogs,  we require a fully fenced (front or rear) yard to adopt a dog from us.  If you do not have a securely fenced yard, that is attached to your home.....and you send us an application anyway...please don't be offended if you do not hear back from us.   If you are "going to put up a fence"....please wait until it is up and secure before sending in your app.

Can't adopt, but want to help the Shelties?

We are a totally volunteer organization.  All funds are used solely on vet care for our dogs.

We need foster homes!!  If you live in the Bloomington area (or within 10 miles)  and have room for a Sheltie and have a secure fenced yard, please let us know!!

Jessica
9 yr old Blue Merle female.  Sweet, gentle and loving.   Jessica has one blue eye.  This gentle girl will steal your heart.  She is very calm, laid back and doesn't get shook up about much!    Housetrained, and ready for her own home.

Cosmo
Very gentle, sweet, laid back sable male.   Big Teddy bear!!  Cosmo is 9 yrs old, and truly a gem.  Cosmo is housetrained and very well mannered.   He would prefer a quieter home, with someone he can follow everywhere.  He is a big boy.....once he loses some weight, he will be a 35+ pound sheltie.  Cosmo has a huge, gorgeous Sheltie coat, which makes him look even bigger.  He is just beautiful.  This boy will turn a lot of heads!!

Lola

VERY small, very sweet Bi-Blue female.  One blue eye, one brown eye.  Lola is about 4 years old, and weighs 14#s..  Lola is a total lap dog and her favorite spot is on your lap.  Lola did have to be shaved, and along with her low thyroid; she is looking pretty naked right now, but her coat is already starting to grow back.  In fact, she is going to be gorgeous when her whole coat comes in.  Very loving dog!!

When no Poodle Rescue could be secured in time, they came here.   These two have never been apart.  We would like to keep this bonded pair together.  Isabelle is 2, black and about 6 pounds, Ivan is about 5, all white, about 8 pounds   Very loving dogs!!
